VHOP NATION...THE VIRAL LIFE

Is it just me or is music not as good as it used to be??? Now let me be clear on this subject because I would hate to get into anyone's feelings. Remember back in the day when you were browsing through the music store and you came across a new c.d. or tape depending on what it was you listen to and you found something new. You thought wow I really like this artist and I think I'm going to get this. Take it up to counter and buy it right??? Once you put it in you love it. From beginning to end it was a great buy. Money well spent and definitely worth it.

Or even hearing a song on the radio, you know those songs that make the hair on the back of your neck stand up and give you goose bumps all over because it touched you in such a way. That is the kind of music I want back. I recently heard a c.d. that wasn't worth the money to pay for it. I was very disappointed. The artist didn't seem to be original. This artist is on a label that is well known and I believe (keeping in mind this is an opinion) that most of the people that bought this c.d. didn't buy it because it was good but bought it because of the label the artist was on.

To me that is silly. If I like an album it's not because of the label it's on or who is on the c.d. but for the album itself. Another thing that comes to mind is that some artists fill there c.d. with features... This again is great. I love to hear different artist collaborate together. But every song on the album that's a little much. If an artist has to have a feature on every song then it doesn't seem to me that they are a very good artist. Putting out an album like that makes me think they are in it for the money and not the art. I'm not saying all artists are like this I'm saying that some need to get back to the music and off the money trip.

I understand they want to make money but make good music to earn it... I can't sing I'll be the first to tell you so I don't try. If I know people aren't going to buy crap why try?? Some people that can and have the talent shouldn't because there heart isn't in the right place.

Some people have great talent. The artist that put there heart and souls into making there music and expressing themselves and giving inspiration to other people, that's the music I miss. I'm sure everyone is tired of hearing about Michael Jackson but he is a great example. Go back and listen really listen to Man in the Mirror. That was an inspirational song. The kind that gave goose bumps...

I think that if I buy another c.d. I will have to listen to it first. I'm tired of wasting perfectly good well earned money on a c.d. that I get one good song off of it.

After all music is the expressions that words can never say. I want that back....

Very good blog. Artists aren't even about having one producer and crafting an opus anymore, it's all about 50 producers on one album and just throwing anything out there, hoping it will stick. I still love to purchase cds, but nowadasys I tend to stick to artists who I'm already a fan of and have a history with. Not really going to the store just because of one hit song on the radio.

Nice Miko!
For the record, I highly recommend both E40 "Ball Street Journal' and Twista Catagory F5
